We booked a trip with Captain Bob to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and it was the perfect choice. From the very beginning, he made us feel comfortable, like we were fishing with a good friend. His knowledge of the waters and passion for fishing really stood out, and he was just as excited as we were every time we caught fish. The day before, Captain Bob reached out to ask what kind of fishing or species we wanted to focus on. He tailored the trip to fit exactly what we were hoping for and adjusted along the way when we felt a little seasick. From start to finish, it was an amazing experience. Captain Bob went above and beyond, and yes—he definitely put us on the fish!

I booked a small private boat trip with my 75-year-old father, and it felt like fishing with your favorite uncle. Captain Bob is kind, funny, and laid back, making the whole day comfortable and enjoyable. He was flexible with scheduling and struck the perfect balance—helpful when we needed it but never overbearing. The best part was the fishing itself—he put us on plenty of action. We landed black sea bass, bluefish, and even a tautog (released since it was out of season). Not every fishing trip is guaranteed to be a showstopper, but Captain Bob knew exactly where to find the fish. He even called the night before to give us options, and his knowledge really paid off. We fished several wrecks with different baits, and the action was nonstop—over 20 fish in just 3 hours. Captain Bob cleaned and filleted our catch, walked us through the process, and even shared cooking tips and recipes. We brought home 14 triggerfish and a sea bass, making it a perfect day on the water with a great captain. We’ll definitely be back!

After fishing with Captain Bob today, I can’t just leave a short review—it was such a great experience. I went out on my own, and from the start he made the trip both fun and educational. Captain Bob knows the ocean inside and out, from where the fish are to how they behave, and he takes the time to share that knowledge. He explained the traits and habits of the fish we were targeting, taught me how to react to different bites, and really turned the day into a hands-on lesson in saltwater fishing. We landed five nice tautog, then switched gears to go after stripers, even though it’s still a bit early in the season. What stood out most is that Captain Bob isn’t secretive—he wants you to learn, improve, and enjoy the sport. Spending four hours with him felt like taking a masterclass in fishing, and he’s also a great conversationalist with plenty of local knowledge to share. Even if you didn’t catch a fish, you’d still have a fantastic time with him. This was my first trip with Captain Bob, but definitely not my last. —Carl Snyder, Scranton, PA

As I mentioned in the headline—Captain Bob is excellent. He’s a great guy and I’ll definitely book with him again next time we’re in town. We caught so many fish that my arms are sore, and my girlfriend’s too. She must have landed at least 50 fish—I lost count!
